In Haryana, gram sabha meetings would be held in all gram panchayats of the State from June 1 to 15, 2017.
The officers of the Agriculture Department have been directed to inform farmers about the various subsidy schemes of the Department in these meetings, said Haryana Principal Secretary, Agriculture Department, Abhilaksh likhi.
He said that all Deputy Directors (Agriculture) and District Horticulture Officers had been directed to contact the Deputy Commissioners concerned to confirm the schedule of panchayat-wise gram sabha meetings.
These officers would also depute field officers to these meetings, where they would share detailed information about various subsidies available under the programmes, projects and schemes of the Department, said he.
He added that the Director (Agriculture) and Director General (Horticulture) have been asked to supervise and monitor attendance of the field officials in the meetings.
“The officers have been warned that the gram sabha meetings should not go unattended and any laxity in this regard will be viewed seriously. Orders to this effect have been issued by the Department,” he added.
