Govt's move to expedite release of pension benefits to retired officials

Published on:

With a view to speeding up release of pensionery benefits to retired employees, Haryana Principal Accountant General (Accounts and Entitlements) has directed the Pension Sanctioning Authorities to quote the telephone numbers of Government employees and the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) concerned at the time of submitting pension papers.

A spokesman of the Office of Principal Accountant General (Accounts and Entitlements) said that it had been observed that the Pension Sanctioning Authorities were not quoting the telephone number on the pension papers of the Government employees, which was causing undue delay in finalisation of the pension cases.

He said that although all pensionary benefits were being provided to retired government employees in a time bound manner, some departments were not sending the pension cases of employees in a timely manner.

Any delay in releasing pensionary benefits would be viewed seriously and officer or officials concerned who are at fault, would be held responsible for this lapse, he added.

The spokesman said that a written communication had been issued to all Heads of Departments, Commissioners of Ambala, Hisar, Rohtak and Gurgaon Divisions, all Deputy Commissioners and Registrar, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, asking them to ensure strict compliance of these instructions.
