Suspended a year back for trimming Government’s expenditure, Punjab Government has decided to restore leave travel concession (lTC) facility for its employees from this September.
The facility would be made available for the employees from September 1, 2013.
The instructions in this regard have already been issued to all departmental heads, Registrar Punjab and Haryana High Court, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and Sub-Divisional Magistrates.
The decision came a year after the state government took the decision to “temporarily” suspend the lTC facility for the block 2010-13 on August 29, 2012, as a part of its austerity measures.
“With an aim to reduce the government expenditure, Punjab government had suspended the lTC facility from September 1, 2012, to August 31, 2013,” said a spokesman of the Punjab government. “Now the officers and employees will be able to avail the lTC facility from September 1 this year,” he added.
