Amid the ongoing protest of guest teachers across the State, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Sunday said that the State Government is positive in dealing with the issue of guest teachers and has full sympathy with them.
Vij, who was in Ambala said that the problems being faced by the guest teachers and employees are sole result of poor experience of previous Congress Government and also for following wrong recruitment process because of which future of many youngsters got messed up.
He said that the previous Government had not followed rules in all recruitments. If the recruitment had been made by following correct rules, the guest teachers and other employees would have not faced any problem and also not had to protest in open. The previous Congress Government has given these problems but the present State Government would take every possible step to resolve these issues, he added.
The Minister said that in the matter of saving of one year of nursing students of Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) and General Nurse Midwifery (GNM) courses, the State Government is making serious efforts in securing their future.
He said that most of the nursing institutes were owned by the patrons of previous Congress Government and these institutions were also opened by not following the rules and regulations. Fearing the closure of these institutes, the leaders of previous government were laying pressure on nursing students by making it a political agenda.
The Health Minister said that the State Government is with the nursing students and does not want to spoil their one year but at the same time, functioning of such institutions would be investigated. Such issues also came to light where institutes having only 50 seats have given unauthorized admission to 100 students.
For the inspection of such institutions, a three member committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, which would give its report on the validity of institutes.
He said that on the basis of that report, the Health Department would take action against such institutes.
The present Government has decided to give jobs on the basis of merit so that the future of youngsters do not get messed up and capable youngsters could get job without any recommendation. For this, the State Government has fixed 88 marks for written test and 12 marks for interview. The recruitment process has been initiated on a fast pace under which over 3,700 posts related to Health Department and other departments have been advertised, he said.
