'Govt must learn from China on anti-corruption steps'

Taking on Congress-led UPA on corruption issue, Chandigarh BJP on Tuesday stated that we as a nation should learn from our neighbour China on how to prosecute the corrupt ministers and make it a deterrent for those who indulge in corruption.

Chandigarh BJP president Sanjay Tandon said, “China prosecuted its ex Railway Minister leo Xijun for corruption and he was sentenced to death by the court of law.

If nothing else, we should at least learn the way Chinese Government has acted

against its own Ministers under the charge of corruption.”

Pointing towards Railway Board Bribery Scam, Tandon said, “On one side you have China which is displaying its seriousness to uproot corruption and on the other

side, we are claiming to be the next economic superpower where our investigative agency is making an accused minister as witness for the prosecution.”

Tandon said, “It is not astonishing when the Supreme Court in another case called the CBI a “Caged Parrot” of the government and this corruption case of Railway Ministry just confirms the Supreme Court’s

observation.”

“And this is not the first time that they have shielded their corrupt ministers.

They are habitual of first indulging into unimaginable amount of corruption and then being backed by their party leadership to cover up for their perverse endeavours”, added Tandon.

The CBI last week had filed a chargesheet against suspended Railway Board Member (Staff) Mahesh Kumar and Bansal’s nephew Vijay Singla, besides eight others, in the

Railgate scam and had given clean chit to Bansal in

the case.
