Govt issues order on law & order situation

Published on:

As the law and order situation remained tense across the state, Haryana Government has issued orders to Police and other authorities to not proceed on leave and not venture out of the office for inspection related works.

The orders issued by the Chief Secretary office on Wednesday directed the Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Police IGs (Rohtak, Rewari, Hisar and Karnal range), SPs & Commissioners (Faridabad, Gurgaon and Ambala) to ensure that officers working to maintain law and order situation in the state do not proceed on leave without approval from higher authorities.

The orders have been issued in view of ongoing Jat agitation in various parts of the state following which various roads, national highways and rail traffic have been blocked in the past four days.

The Central Paramilitary forces, including the BSF and the Rapid Action Force (RAF) of the CRPF, had already arrived at Rohtak, Jhajjar and Sonepat districts. Additional police force has also been sent to sites where the protesters had blocked highways and were squatting on rail tracks in the state.
