Hitting back the Congress for alleging that demonetisation rendered over 60,000 of labourer jobless in district Bhiwani, BJP led Haryana Government on Wednesday said that demonetisation has had no adverse effect on their wages.

Minister of State for labour and Employment, Nayab Singh said that the registered labourers in the state are working as before, and demonetisation has had no adverse effect on them.

Referring to the statement made by Congress legislative party leader, Kiran Choudhry, the Minister, whole talking to the mediapersons said that the total number of labourers in district Bhiwani was less than the number claimed by Choudhry as being unemployed. Saini said that Choudhry had claimed that about 60,000 labourers had become unemployed in district Bhiwani. However, 40,141 labourers are registered in Bhiwani up to December 16. These labourers were and are still working, claimed the Minister. He said that Congress leaders have been trying to mislead people, but people would not let them succeed in their motives. Hailing the victory of the BJP in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections and polls held in other places across the country, Saini described it as people’s mandate to demonetisation.
