Even as the protest of guest teachers who are sitting on fast-unto-death since June 23 entered 22nd day, Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma on Wednesday had nothing to offer them or pacify the situation.
The Minister said that the State Government already did what could be done for them and now, we can not go against or beyond constitution.
Replying to the questions related to the agitating guest teachers, the Education Minister said that it was previous Congress Government who is responsible for the plight of guest teachers.
The State Government has still full sympathy with the guest teachers and therefore, has decided to give relaxation of five years in age to them in direct recruitment and weight-age of eight marks of experience. The government would act as per the constitution in this matter.
Reacting to the support of Khap Panchayats, Congress and INlD to the guest teachers, Sharma said that for the first time in the State, BJP has formed government with full mandate and the opposition parties are not able to digest it.
Demanding regularization of their jobs, the guest teachers sitting on fast-unto-death since June 23, continued their protest at Mahendragarh, the hometown of Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma.
Notably, more than 15000 guest teachers were appointed by the then Congress Government in 2005 to tackle the shortage of staff in government schools.
