About six lakh farmers have been covered under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in Haryana up to August 5 and the State Government has directed the bankers to take immediate steps to solve the problems faced by the
farmers. CS DS Dhesi, while addressing a meeting of the State level Bankers Committee (SlBC), on Friday issued these directions.
The SlBC was convened to take stock of the schemes being implemented by banks and apprise the bankers about various initiatives taken by the State Government.
The opposition parties, INlD and Congress have been holding protest rallies in the state against the Fisal Bima Yojna, alleging that the scheme would only benefit the insurance companies.
