Govt asked to fill vacancies reserved for Ex Service Men

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Monday on Monday asked the Congress-led Punjab Government to fill

vacancies reserved for ex-servicemen immediately, besides demanding protection of their rank upon their re-appointment in government jobs.

“Congress Government should not make excuses for not filling 13 percent ex-servicemen quota in government jobs,” said SAD’s ex-servicemen wing president General (retired) JJ Singh after addressing wing’s first meeting.

He said that the government should provide skill development to ex-servicemen wherever needed so that ex-servicemen quota is filled appropriately.

Gen Singh said that he also got feedback at the meeting that ex-servicemen were not getting rank equivalence when they joined the State police. “We will take up this issue forcefully and get it resolved,” he said.
