Punjab Congress’s former president Sunil Jakhar described the selection of Charanjit Singh Channi as the CM face as a good decision.
At the same time, he asserted that there was no infighting and the party is together.
“It is a good decision, Congress party is together, there is no fight. Rahul Ji spoke with an open heart. This is the leadership of Rahul Ji. Punjabis give me huge love and support. I am not contesting the election. I am with Congress and will work in election as the party decides,” he said.
Also putting to rest all rumours that he has quit his association with the Congress, the party’s Punjab unit former president Sunil Jakhar on Sunday made it clear that he was still part of the grand old party which has given him “so much”.
He rubbished all reports regarding him quitting the party claiming the senior leader took the decision as he was upset with the Congress for having been sidelined. “Anybody doubting my commitment to the party is casting aspersions on me,” he said, adding that he wasn’t actively campaigning for assembly elections because he wasn’t contesting.
