Glowing tributes were paid to Gurbachan Kaur Bajwa, mother of Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa, at her bhog ceremony on Sunday which was attended by a large number of people from all over the State.
Wife of Punjab’s former minister Satnam Singh Bajwa, she devoted her life to the service of the people.
Congress general secretary Shakeel Ahmed read out the condolence message from Congress president Sonia Gandhi during the ceremony. In his address, Dr Ahmed said that the passing away of Gurbachan Kaur Bajwa has created a vacuum in the family and hoped that the Bajwa family will recover from this very soon.
He said that Gurbachan Bajwa was great soul and she has contributed to the society in her whole life.
PPCC chief Partap Singh Bajwa thanked all the senior leaders and the people from the party and across the party lines for joining the family on this occasion.
Those who were present on the occasion included senior Congress leaders Shakeel Ahmad, Ambika Soni, Harish Chaudhary, Asha Kumari, Haryana’s former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Punjab’s former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Ahwani Kumar, Haryana Congress president Ashok Tanwar, Youth Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring among others.
