Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday called Punjabis to give a befitting and effective reply to the Congress party for its ongoing divisive and anti-Punjab agenda. “Attempts of the Congress to stall Punjab’s development projects would not be tolerated and the State’s development would be accelerated further,” said Badal, while resolving public plaints on the concluding day of his Sangat Darshan program in Dhuri Assembly segment.
Reacting to senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal’s decision to move the Election Commission against Badal’s Sangat Darshans, he said that neither the Congress leaders have anything to do with the State’s development nor they were aware of law of the land. “Sorting out public grievances by reaching their doorsteps is my foremost duty and I am committed to all round development of the State besides ensuring delivery of basic amenities at the ground level to uplift living standard of common masses,” said Badal.
He said whenever the SAD-BJP combine took reins of State, they tried their best to witness healthy and active participation of common masses in the state’s development. Badal, commenting on Congress’ opposition to Sangat Darshan, said that our opponents advocated policies of divisiveness and sectarian interests besides mocking our social and pro-people agenda. Answering to a query regarding not inviting local MP Bhagwant Mann from Aam Aadmi Party in his Sangat Darshan program in Benra village, Badal said that he never invited anyone to such program but he, himself, visited villages of Punjab to address public issues. “During Sangat Darshan, anyone can come with their issues and Panchayats could get financial assistance for development purposes,” he said.
