Another blot on Badal’s face
Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa said that gang-rape with a girl in Amritsar has added another blot on the face of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal who boasts high on law and order situation in the state.
Expressing concern over safety of women in Punjab, Bajwa said that crime cases against women and dalits were on rise. Drubbing Punjab Government for its failure to control the assault on women, Bajwa said, “At an average, two rape cases are being committed every day in the State.”
“By his own admission in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Sukhbir Badal has said that between November 2012 and January 2013, as many as 186 cases of rape were registered. These figures are suppressed and actual crime is much higher,” said Bajwa.
PPCC president said that Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir shall admit their failure and make a public apology for this dubious distinction, their Government has achieved.
