“The genome testing of the RTPCR tests are being done. There is a Genome Testing Lab in Delhi where there is a huge rush for testing such samples. Thus, we have ordered to set up a lab for Genome Testing Lab at PGIMS Rohtak,” the Minister said while talking to the media persons in Ambala.

He said the technique of genome sequencing will help in getting information about the new variants of the virus.

If Genome Testing is done, it becomes clear whether the patient is infected with delta plus variant or others.

Vij said so far, only one case of the new Covid-19 variant of ‘Delta Plus’ has been reported in the State.

The case was reported in Faridabad a month back and directions for 100 per cent contact tracing were given, he added.
