Jails with extra space may soon be home to cows in Haryana with the Manohar lal Khattar Government considering a proposal in this regard.
“This would be done to enable the inmates to work in gaushalas and earn money,” said the Chief Minister while talking to the mediapersons after presiding over monthly review meeting of the District Grievances Redressal Committee in Gurugram.
The State Government is already working on bringing about innovative changes for the protection of cows and develop model gaushalas in the state. Recently, the BJP led Haryana Government had released its formulated standard operated procedures (SOPs), which has to be adopted by all gaushalas for respectable upkeep of cattle.
The SOPs were designed following government’s observation that the management system of gaushalas is not on scientific lines and the condition of some of the gaushalas is miserable.

The names of eligible members should have been given in the advertisement, but it was not done. The complainant made the allegation that officers Anil Sharma and Arun Sharma had made members over and above the prescribed limit and charged money from them.
The Chief Minister directed that a case be registered against both accused and asked the police to investigate the matter.

About the issue of illegal possession of a stream by people for many years as shown in the revenue record of Sikandarpur, Manohar lal said that a state-level policy would be framed for such matters so that these may not arise in future.
Multi-storey buildings have been constructed by people on the stream and they have been residing there for more than 20 years. It would not be apt to evacuate them, but in future, no such activity would be allowed, said the Chief Minister.
