'Ganging up of AAP and Akalis a wild imagination of sick mind'

Reacting to Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh’s statement that the SAD and AAP had “ganged up” to “malign him”, the ruling Akali Dal on Tuesday said that the former chief minister has become “paranoid and having hallucinations that all his rivals are ganging up against him”.

Capt Amarinder, a day before, alleged that Punjab government had leaked the closure report to AAP which is yet to be submitted to the court in the Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT) case.

“Ganging up of AAP and Akalis is just a fig of wild imagination of a sick mind,” said the political advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal and MlA Virsa Singh Valtoha, in a joint statement.

Earlier, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal too had made a similar “absurd” statement that Capt Amarinder was let off the noose in AIT case following a tacit understanding between Congress and Akali Dal.

The Akali duo felt that both Congress and AAP are “indulging in such theatricals to hide their Machiavellian strategies though even a naïve in Punjab politics knows that Akalis and Congress are poles apart and would never come together notwithstanding adage that the politics is art of possible”.

“Moreover, to say that the Akalis and AAP are having any understanding is equally unimaginable as AAP is a conglomeration of rejected, dejected and frustrated self-seekers who do not think beyond self-aggrandizement. The Akalis can’t have any truck with them,” the duo added.
