Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar on Saturday said that a fresh survey of BPl families would be conducted in the State from June to August to get exact figures of such families in the state.

Besides, the Government plans to make available special machine at each sub-division for measuring land to deal with the issue of land disputes.

Khattar was speaking at a function after redressing the grievances of people at Janta Darbar organised in Jind. About 350 complaints related to pensions, HUDA, electricity, housing scheme, roads, encroachments, unauthorised possessions, kidnappings and murder were received at the Darbar. More than 100 grievances were heard and most of them were redressed on the spot with the help of officers.

Regarding a complaint related to District Town Planner (DTP), Khattar summoned DTP, Raj Kumar. As he was not present at the Darbar, the Chief Minister ordered that he should be suspended.

On the complaint made by a resident against a policeman who cheated him in the name of providing him a plot, the Chief Minister directed the Superintendent of Police to conduct a fair investigation in the matter and take action against the policeman.

In a similar incident, a complainant said his neighbour had occupied his plot illegally and the police were not taking the matter seriously. The Chief Minister handed over the complaint to the Superintendent of Police and directed him to register an FIR on the complaint.

On a complaint regarding more electricity cuts in the Defence Colony, Khattar asked the XEN of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam who informed him that there were 25 per cent line losses in the colony. Two-hour power cut is not justified for 25 per cent line losses, the CM said.

He ordered that 24-hour power supply should be made available to the residents of the colony and action should be against those who indulged in power theft. The state government has constituted a separate department for ex-servicemen which would redress their complaints.

On the request made by a hundred per cent physically handicapped person, Khattar directed that he should be provided a tri-motorcycle within one month. Token system would be implemented for issuing disability certificates so that such people may not have to wait for the entire day, he added.

Talking to reporters later,  he said that a survey would be got conducted to shut down unauthorised meat shops in the State. Replying to a question, he said he had been redressing the grievances of people by staying in each district for two days a week.

Member of Parliament, Ramesh Kaushik, MlAs— Prem lata, Jasbir Deswal, former Minister, Surender Barwala were amongst those present.
