For accomplishing the Mission 272+ in the upcoming lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) while preparing its vision document, is mulling to replace all taxes in the country with 1 percent tax on bank transactions and ensuring that access to all relevant natural resources will be by auction rather than by allocation.
Announcing this, BJP leader and former Union law Minister Dr Subramanian Swamy on Thursday said the BJP was preparing its vision document and is considering revolutionary proposals to improve the economic condition of the country.
While addressing the Conference of Intellectuals organised by the city BJP, Swamy said the NaMo’s wave that has taken the entire country by storm has also reached foreign shores. The evidence of this was now coming from all over the world with leaders of countries which had earlier adopted an anti-Modi stand are now rushing in to build bridges with them, prominently including UK, USA and even Pakistan.
He said the mood of the electorate in the entire country was to bring in BJP Government led by its Prime Minister candidate Narendra Modi. Swami said the leaders of Congress, which is seeped in dynastic politics, have repeatedly said that a tea vendor cannot become the Prime Minister of the country. In saying this, they have not only shown complete ignorance of the power of democracy but also disrespect it. “The servile Congressmen are targeting Modi with all the weapons in their arsenal even going to the extent of calling him a fascist. However, they are completely unaware that the father of their leader Sonia Gandhi was a soldier in Hitler’s army and was arrested by Stalin’s army,” he said.
He added such has been the level of corruption in the country that while the total tax collection in the country is Rs 2.5 lakh crore, the loss to the national exchequer has been an astounding Rs 1.76 lakh crore in 2G scam, Rs 11 lakh crore in coal scam, Rs 24 lakh in crude oil scam, while in excess of Rs 120 lakh crore stashed in the foreign bank accounts which can be brought back to the country under provisions of the UN.
While addressing the party workers and others, Smriti Irani, MP and national vice-president of BJP said on being elected to the Rajya Sabha, as its youngest ever member, she closely observed the Prime Minister on his well known lack of expressions. She was surprised when she found it to be true since he did not give any expressions even on receiving the saddest and harshest of news. “However, as she participated in repeated sittings of RS the realisation dawned that the lack of expression bhav was a direct result of the lack of bhavna — feeling for the plight of the countrymen reeling under increasing price rise and mis-governance of Congress,” said Smriti. She added such has been the impact of the spiraling prices on the common man that women are forced to offer their grown and unborn children for medical assistance and to keep poverty at bay.
