Following her persistent absence from the meetings of district grievances committee meeting chaired by Health and Sports Minister Anil Vij in Panipat, IPS officer Sangeeta Kalia, Superintendent of Police, Panipat was transferred by the State Government on Wednesday.
Sangeeta Kalia has been posted as Commandant, 1st IRB, Bhondsi (Gurugram). Manbir Singh has now been posted as SP Panipat.
Her transfer orders were among eight IPS officers which were effected by the Haryana Government on Wednesday.
Two years back also, the woman IPS officer had faced the similar action by the State Government after her spat with Anil Vij in November 2015.
Vij had on Monday made a complaint against Kalia to Chief Minister Manohar lal over her absence from the district grievances committee meeting. Since Kalia was transferred as Panipat SP in April, she did not attend any meeting chaired by Vij.
The Minister had termed the absence of Sangeeta Kalia as “indiscipline” and made a complaint to Chief Minister to take action against her. Vij had told the mediapersons that in the absence of SP during the meeting, the grievances related to her department are not resolved.
Notably, both Vij and Kalia had engaged in a heated exchange of words over the alleged illegal sale of liquor in Fatehabad during a meeting of the district grievances committee held in November 2015. The Minister had then himself left the meeting in a huff as Kalia had refused to follow his order to leave the venue.
The video of their spat had gone viral on social media and Anil Vij had attracted strong criticism from various quarters for shouting at the women IPS officer during the meeting.
At that time also, Sangeeta Kalia was transferred and posted as Commandant of the India Reserve Battalion in Manesar.
Besides Kalia Haryana Government has issued transfer and posting orders of 8 IPS Officers, with immediate effect on Wednesday. KK Mishra, DGP, PHQ, Panchkula has been posted DG, Headquarters, Panchkula while PK Agrawal has been appointed as ADG Crime.
Hardeep Singh Doon has been posted IGP, Administration Haryana, Panchkula and will also be the IGP HAP, Madhuban. Partiksha Godara, Commandant, 3rd Battalion, HAP, Hisar has been given additional charge of SP Hansi while Rajesh Duggal, SP Rewari has been given additional charge of Commandant, 3rd Battalion, HAP, Hisar.
