At prayer meetings held in Mandi and Sundernagar on Thursday, the followers of Sri Sri Ravi Shakar ventilated their sadness over the NGT slapping Rs5 crore fine on Art of living Foundation for holding World Culture Festival on the banks of the Yamuna in New Delhi while allowing it to go ahead with the function.
The slapping of fine, they lamented, has tarnished the image of India abroad among the community of nations.
They said the Art of living Guru is a non-controversial spiritual saint having global following. “He is a harbinger of universal peace and brotherhood and refrains from indulging petty politics,” the followers said.
Moreover, a decision of holding the International World Culture Festival had been taken long back and the NGT should have woken up when the decision had been announced, they said. Art of living has one of largest number of followers in Himachal Pradesh.
