In a shocking case of “road rage”, five police personnel, including two assistant sub-inspectors and a cop deployed with Punjab Chief Minister’s security, were arrested for allegedly killing a 28-year-old Kabaddi player, a relative of a woman excise inspector in Batala.
In all, six persons were arrested by the Batala Police in the road rage incident that followed after an argument broke out when the policemen, in two vehicles, were trying to overtake a car being driven by a woman, posted as an excise inspector, near Bhagwanpur village in Punjab. In an incident that took place late Sunday evening, the policemen, said to be in inebriated condition, became furious when they could not get their way.
