For the first time in the history of Haryana Assembly, a mother along with her son has taken the oath of office and secrecy as MLAs jointly. Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala along with his mother Naina Chautala took the oath of office in the presence of his father Ajay Singh Chautala who was sitting in the VIP gallery of the assembly.
Dushyant became MLA from Uchana Kalan in Jind district and his mother Naina Chautala represents Badhra assembly segment in Dadri district in the assembly. Naina Chautala called it an emotional moment for her as she along with her son took the oath of MLAs jointly. She said that she has been feeling proud of her son who has become deputy chief minister of the state at the age of 31. In the past, former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal’s wife Jasma Devi and her sons Chander Mohan and Kuldeep Bishnoi had also become MLAs but their term was different.
