Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar on Sunday said that the case registered against Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for alleged irregularities in land deals will be thoroughly investigated,
Ruling out vendetta behind the case, Manohar lal said that the BJP Government has been fully committed to uproot corruption since the day it came to power.
The FIR registered on Saturday (against Vadra and Hooda) will be thoroughly examined and investigated, he said while talking to the mediapersons in Gurugram.
The FIR against Vadra, Hooda and two companies —DlF and Onkareshwar Properties — had been registered at Kherki Daula police station in Gurugram.
It was lodged after a complaint was received from one Surinder Sharma, a resident of Nuh.
The case was registered under sections of 420(cheating), 120 (hatching conspiracy) and 467, 468, 471(forgery) under the Indian Penal Code at the Kherki Daula Police Station.
Notably, Vadra's Skylight Hospitality Pvt ltd had purchased 3.5 acre of land in Gurugram's Sector 83 from Onkareshwar properties at a price of Rs 7.50 crore in 2008, when Hooda was the Chief Minister and also held the portfolio of Town and County Planning Department.
later, Skylight Hospitality had sold this land to realty major DlF for Rs 58 crore, after procuring commercial licence for the development of the colony with the influence of Hooda. The company belonging to Vadra's Skylight Hospitality cheated me along with others, complainant Sharma had alleged.
Responding to a question about the report of Justice S N Dhingra Commission into the land scam, the Chief Minister said that it will be made public once the court allows it.
The one-man commission was set up by the Manohar lal -led BJP government in May 2015 to probe the grant of licences, including those to Vadra, for developing commercial colonies by the Department of Town and Country Planning in Gurugram's Sector 83.
Meanwhile, Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday accused the ruling BJP of indulging in political vendetta.
Hooda, who had served as the CM Haryana between 2005 and 2014, said that the government is doing these things out of frustration and just to hide its failures.
The two-time former Chief Minister claimed that nothing wrong was done by the Congress government while finalising the deals.
“No wrongdoing took place during my tenure. This is a failed government and they are getting these things done to hide their failures. It is a complaint orchestrated by the BJP. When they could not find anything against me in four years, they did this as a result of their frustration” he alleged.
While mentioning Dhingra commission which was constituted in 2015, Hooda said, “The report is not public. Elections are near and they (BJP) have no issues to raise now.”
