Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s adopted daughter Honeypreet’s ex-husband Vishwas Gupta on Friday alleged that their father-daughter relationship was a sham to fool others.
Accusing jailed dera chief Ram Rahim and Honeypreet of having illicit relations, Gupta while talking to the mediapersons here on Friday said no legal adoption process had taken place.
Gupta, whose family was a staunch dera follower, also claimed that he saw Ram Rahim and Honeypreet in a compromising situation in the dera chief’s ‘gufa’ in Sirsa and was threatened by Ram Rahim to keep quiet or face dire consequences.
“Since 2009, Honeypreet was living with Ram Rahim as his de-facto wife. Prior to 2009, only men were given roles in the management but after 2009, women, including Honeypreet started taking on important roles in the Dera management,” said the estranged husband.
Gupta went onto say rape convict Ram Rahim is very powerful even in prison and that he feared for his life.
Ram Rahim adopted Honeypreet in 2009. Gupta claimed he married Honeypreet in 1999 on the direction of the Dera chief before filing for divorce in 2011.
“I had to suffer so much... They filed a fake dowry case and four other cases against me. In the end, we had to ask for forgiveness reluctantly,” said he adding that I went to Patiala jail in one of such fake cases related cheque bounce.

Fifty-year-old Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment by a Panchkula CBI court on August 28 and is undergoing his term in Sunaria jail in Rohtak. Honeypreet, whose real name is Priyanka Taneja, has been absconding since August 25 evening.
She had been booked in Haryana for allegedly inciting violence following the conviction of Ram Rahim on August 25.
In another bizarre claim, Gupta said Ram Rahim made them play a game similar to Bigg Boss inside his cave, where couples were made to stay together for 28 days.
During the press conference, Vishwas cried and later, left the venue weeping, claiming he was not feeling well.
