The farming community in Punjab is all set to launch a massive agitation on several issues including electricity, loan waiver.
The farmers have decided to gherao the Cabinet Ministers on August 19, to protest against the Punjab Government for being neglected, at its offices and departments.
"We will protest outside the Amritsar Rural SSP Office on August 10 regarding the promise of electricity and farmers' loan waiver which have not been fulfilled as yet…We will also gherao all the Cabinet Ministers on August 19," said the leader of Kisan Sangrash Samiti Sarwan Singh Pandher.
He said that the government has been ignoring the promises made to the farmers and the farmers are being forced to commit suicides.
"If the State Government does not wake up even after August 19, the agitation would then be intensified further in the coming days," he added.
