Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Monday said that the benefit of compensation would be given only to the actual cultivator on the recommendation of the Gram Sabha and the compensation to the farmers would be disbursed by May 15.
Manohar lal while addressing a Kisan rally at Bhiwani district said that the benefit of compensation to be given by the State Government for the damage caused to the crops due to the recent untimely rains and hailstorms would be given to the actual cultivator. And, only attested copies of the Gram Sabha recommendation would be accepted.
He said that the cultivator could also claim compensation on the basis of the power of attorney obtained from the land owner. Notably, the assessment of loss to the crops in the state was put at Rs 1,137 crore when the Union Ministers Ram Vilas Paswan and Dr Sanjeev Baliyan had visited Haryana last week.
The State Government has already directed the Deputy Commissioners to complete the assessment exercise to check the crop damage by April 15 and compensation would be awarded to the farmers within 30 days of receipt of the report.
