Taking a dig at the newly formed BJP-JJP collation government over non-procurement of paddy, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupindra Singh Hooda on Tuesday alleged that farmers of the State are angry with the State government for lack of urgency shown in the procurement of paddy.
He alleged that in Yamunanagar, Kaithal and other mandis, the procurement of paddy had not even started, assuring the farmers that they should not consider themselves alone in any way as his party stands with them and will fight together.
Hooda said that as per information being received from various parts of the State, scores of farmers have been protesting at mandis over non-procurement of their paddy over the last few days.
The former Chief Minister said that today farmers are very upset due to non-procurement of paddy. Farmers alleged that despite repeated complaints, the government and administration are not paying any attention to them. Slogans are being made by the farmers everywhere against government over its apathy, he said. If this is the attitude of the government in the procurement of paddy, then the farmers will be forced to go on the streets, Hooda added.
