Congress’ Faridkot MP and renowned Punjabi folk singer Mohammad Sadiq has also joined a slew of crooners who have come up with their own way to support the ongoing farmers’ agitation against the Central farm laws.
Sadiq, best known for his duets with singer Ranjit Kaur, has released a song — Jitaange zarur, jari jang rakhio (We will win for sure, so continue your fight) — in the support of the protesting farmers exhorting them to continue their fight and the victory will be theirs for sure.
Over seven-minute song says that the farmers’ agitation will put an end to the BJP leaders’ “arrogance” and lay low the snobbish pride of the “ruthless who, in connivance with the corporate houses, are demolishing the peasantry in the state”. A parliamentarian representing the Congress in the Lok Sabha, Sadiq has showered praises on Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh over his stand against the agri acts. The song go into raptures over capt Amarinder for calling a special session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha to oppose the bills, by passing state’s own bills.
