Failure of Cong helpline indicative of all that is wrong with party: SAD

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Wednesday said the abysmal failure of the helpline launched by Punjab Congress which had failed to get more than seventy calls a day was symptomatic of the state of affairs of the party which had lost touch with the common masses and also reflective of the good performance of the SAD-BJP Government.

“It is pathetic that the Punjab Congress has gone to town trumpeting the success of an alleged helpline started by the party which it claims has received 700 calls in the last more than ten days”, SAD spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema said.

The Akali spokesman said it seemed that the Punjab Congress really did not have any issue at hand and had fallen to tom- tomming the performance of an alleged helpline.

“This is however not your fault. Your tallest leaders including your president Capt Amarinder Singh are wining and dining abroad as can be seen from the pictures which are floating on the social media. It is needless to say whose company the PCC chief is enjoying abroad on a visit which was supposed to be meant to interact with the NRI community and know about their problems”, Cheema said.

Asking the Congress not to try to befool Punjabis by resorting to gimmicks like helplines, Cheema said if the Punjab Congress was really serious about Punjab its leaders should go and interact with the people as was being done by chief minister Parkash Singh Badal.
