Following a series of protests by students in various parts of Haryana over the poor results in class X and class XII, Haryana School Education Board (HSEB) has now urged the candidates that in case they are not satisfied with their results, they might opt for re-checking or re-evaluation of their answer sheets within 20 days of announcement of the results.
Chairman of Haryana School Education Board, Jagbir Singh on Monday refuted the media reports of re-announcement of results of secondary and senior secondary examinations in the wake of protests by school students.
He also appealed to the candidates, parents and schools concerned, not to pay any heed to such rumours on Whatsapp and among public. These rumours were being spread by those antisocial elements who have nothing to do with education, he added.
Singh said that the result of senior secondary examinations was announced on May 18 whereas that of secondary examinations was announced on May 22. In the meantime, due to technical error in computer, the result of secondary examinations of best candidates was again prepared and uploaded on Board’s website, said he.
A few schools had urged to again announce the examination results. On examining the award list of students of such schools, it had been found that the results declared earlier and later are similar to those in the award list. Thus, the results have been declared only on the basis of marks given by the examiner on the answer sheets of candidates, said the chairman while clarifying on the complaints of error in announcements of results by the Board.
Notably, angered by their class X poor results, the girl students of a Rohtak school had formed human chain to block the traffic and demanding re-evaluation of their results. Such protests have also been held in various parts of Haryana by school students, who are demanding re-evaluation of their answer sheets.
