'Extend time limit for conveyance deed registration on allotment price'

Published on:

Punjab local Government Minister Anil Joshi on Friday appealed Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to issue orders to extend time limit for getting conveyance deed registration on allotment price for at least two months more. Punjab government has already announced a golden opportunity to all those allottees of immoveable properties (plots or houses etc) by the government or a public sector undertaking or local bodies to get their first conveyance deeds registered at rates mentioned in their allotment letters till June 7, 2015, which resulted in benefit to large no of allottees to the tune of crore.

Joshi, in a letter to the Chief Minister, hailed the decision saying that earlier allottees were required to get conveyance deed executed on collector rate that was linked to present market rate of property and this decision of Punjab government to register deeds on allotment rate have facilitated a large number of allottees.

He said that the state was earning handsome revenue due to this decision as well as the general public feels satisfied with the pro-active approach of the Punjab Government towards this genuine long pending demand. Joshi said that as there was not sufficient time available for the public to avail benefit under this decision due to delay in issuance of notification in this regard, “the issue of extending at least two months should be considered sympathetically in larger public interest”.
