A day after his expulsion from the Indian National Lok Dal, party chief Om Parkash Chautala’s elder son Ajay Chautala on Thursday said that a conspiracy has been hatched by a few people to oust him and his sons from the party.
“A conspiracy has been hatched under the directions of Abhay Chautala and a letter to expel me was typed in Chandigarh’s party office,” Ajay alleged while talking to the mediapersons on Thursday in New Delhi.
Abhay Chautala, who is Leader of opposition in Haryana Assembly and party’s MLA from Ellenabad, is younger brother of Ajay Chautala.
Ajay was expelled from the party and also removed from the post of INLD secretary general on Wednesday.
INLD Haryana president Ashok Arora had released a letter issued by OP Chautala for expulsion of Ajay from the party.
Earlier, Ajay’s sons, Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala and Digvijay Chautala were also expelled from the primary membership of INLD on November 2 by their grandfather OP Chautala.
Raising questions on the letter released by Ashok Arora, Ajay Chautala said that the letter does not bear the signature of party chief OP Chautala and it is a fake letter.
Reacting to the allegations, Abhay’s camp on Thursday released a letter bearing signature of OP Chautala related to the expulsion of Ajay Chautala.
A statement released by the party stated, “The party has put an end to the doubts raised on the letter released by Ashok Arora related to expulsion of Ajay Chautala. A letter with signature of OP Chautala has been released. Besides, the Superintendent of Tihar Jail has also attested the letter.”
On his strategy following his expulsion, Ajay, a former MP said that the party state executive committee meeting will be held on November 17 at Jind. Party leaders and workers will decide the next course at the meeting, he said.
Commenting on the meeting of party leaders called by Abhay Chautala on the same day in Chandigarh, Ajay expressed confidence that the party leaders will still attend his meeting in Jind.
When asked whether he will be announcing expulsion of leaders from the INLD at Jind, he said that no such action will be taken as we are in favor of uniting the party.
Two factions, each headed by Ajay and his younger brother Abhay are currently squabbling over the control on the INLD. Both the camps are attempting to muster maximum support for their November 17 meeting convened as a show of strength to claim control over the INLD.
