Himachal Pradesh Irrigation and Public Health Minister Thakur Mahender Singh on Wednesday said it was paramount to ensure speedy implementation of development works on a war footing to prove that the BJP government was for the common man and there was zero tolerance for corruption.
Addressing the meeting of public grievances and public redressal committee here, he said the non-official members of the committee had great responsibility to discharge their duty and it should be ensured that both official and non official members should function with mutual cooperation in public interest.
Thakur cautioned officials in particular that no one should dream of any relaxation in the performance of their duties.
He said the Prime Minister during his recent visit to Himachal Pradesh had lauded the efforts of the chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, in the spheres of development and added if we worked more the central government would extend more financial assistance to the backward hill state.
Thakur said massive damage by the unprecedented floods, the worst in the past 50 years had ruined the ecology and economy of Himachal Pradesh. He said the union government had drawn up an ambitious plan to strengthen a network of national highways, railways, ropeways and airways to bring Himachal Pradesh on the world map of tourism.
All MLAs and Ministers of Mandi district were present in the meeting.
