Employees unions in Hry threaten stir

Published on:

A day after the Punjab and Haryana High Court set aside the previous Congress led Haryana Government’s policies to regularise the services of contractual and ad hoc employees, Sarv Karmachari Sangh, Haryana has announced statewide protest if the contractual and ad hoc employees are asked to leave their jobs.

The HC had set aside the policies framed by the previous Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led Congress Government to regularise employees ahead of the State assembly elections in 2014.

The High Court had however given six months to the State Government to make regular appointments against these posts and to enable the affected employees to find jobs.

The employees unions have announced statewide Jail Bharo Andolan on June 28 if the State Government fails to resolve the issues of thousands of contractual and ad hoc employees affected due to HC orders.

On the other hand, the Congress has criticized the Manohar lal Khattar Government for not defending the policies in the Court.

Senior Congress leader and communications in-charge of the party, Randeep Singh Surjewala has blamed the Haryana Government for the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s decision of quashing the 2014 regularisation policies.

Surjewala said that the Khattar government neither put the entire facts before the High Court nor argued the case appropriately and effectively for the contract / adhoc employees, which resulted in the dark future of 8,000 poor families.

He said that the 2014 regulization policy made to regularize the adhoc employees during the Congress regime was not only legally sound but it also took due care of the interests of the ad hoc and contractual employees. But BJP Government deliberately let the policy quashed in the High Court.

Surjewala demand that the Khattar Government should immediately undo its mistake of letting the policy quashed in the High Court by passing an ordinance for granting permanent status to the said adhoc and contractual employees.

Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Haryana Congress chief Ashok Tanwar had also criticized the State Government following the High Court’s order.
