The Election Commission of India’s Director-General Akshay Raut will be in the city to conduct review meetings and workshop related to the communication and Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) for the State of Punjab, Haryana, and the UT of Chandigarh.
“During DG’s visit on February 24, a media workshop on election regulations, paid news and SVEEP would be held at 10.30 am at Haryana Niwas,” said an official spokesperson of Punjab Chief Electoral Office. He said that the Director General would also review SVEEP preparations with CEO and District Officials through video conference from New Civil Secretariat, Haryana at 2.30 pm besides the orientation workshop with MCMC members through video conference at same time.
Raut would also preside over the meeting of the Partner Departments on SVEEP collaboration. Spokesperson said that instructions have been issued to Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officers, District SVEEP Nodal Officers and members of the MCMC to attend the meeting, video conferences and workshop along with concerned officers.
