With Municipal elections on Sunday, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday appealed to the people to elect only such candidates who take up their cause at the appropriate platform.

Addressing Guhla Vikas Rally at Anaj Mandi Cheeka in district Kaithal, Hooda said that those elected representatives, who never raise their voice for the welfare of the people in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha and are not pro-people, are not acceptable to him. He said that how a candidate who never utter a single word concerning the welfare of people in Haryana Vidhan Sabha could protect their interest. He cautioned the people against such candidates and appealed them to elect only those candidates from their areas who take up their cause at the appropriate platform. He said that Congress is the only party of all sections of the society be it farmers, poor, traders, employees or the labourers.

The Chief Minister inaugurated six development projects costing over Rs 60 crore on the occasion. He announced a slew of incentives for the people of area which included a grant of Rs 10 crore from the Haryana Rural Development Fund (HRDF) for the development of villages of Guhla Assembly constituency, Rs two crore to Municipal Committee, Cheeka for beautification of the city, Rs 10 lakh each for gaushalas of Siwan and Guhla. He also announced the four-laning of road from Shaheed Udham Singh Chowk upto PWD rest house, upgradation of schools fulfilling the prescribed norms, construction of sports stadium on providing land by villages and setting up of a grain purchase centre at Bhagal.

Ridiculing the allegations of opposition party that Congress party is behind the sentencing of INlD leaders in JBT Teachers Scam, Hooda said that now-a-days some Opposition leaders were spreading false propaganda that they have been punished for giving jobs to the people whereas the truth is they have given appointments to those who were not even selected. Moreover, when the Supreme Court entrusted the case to CBI in the year 2003, Om Prakash Chautala was the Chief Minister and Atal Bihari Vajpayee led Government was in power at Center. Similarly, when the case was registered against him in the year 2004, even then Chautala was the Chief Minister and BJP Government supported by INlD was in power at Centre.

Member of Parliament Naveen Jindal and Industries Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala also spoke on the occasion.
