The utility bill payments can be made at the Kiosk against cheques only. This Kiosk has been set up to meet the demand raised by the resident welfare association. Sector 27 and Sector 38 would be the next two Sectors to get similar Kiosks in the coming months.

On the occasion, Prerna Puri, Secretary, Department of Information Technology said that as of now, it would provide limited services but based on the response services would be increased. She further informed that the Department of Information Technology is working towards opening more such Kiosks in Sectors those are yet not serviced by Sampark Centres.

The project Sampark was launched in 2004 and in November 2012 a Wi-fi enabled Sampark Centre was launched in Sector 21. At present, Chandigarh has 26 Sampark Centres, 13 each in urban and rural areas of Chandigarh. As per the Department of Information Technology, these Sampark Centres log around 2lakh transactions every month.
