Dushyant attacks Rahul ahead of his State visit

Ahead of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the state on October 7 to protest against farms’ laws, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Sunday accused the Congress party of misguiding gullible farmers on agricultural laws. The Deputy CM said the State’s farmer is well aware and he will not be deceived by Congress. Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Haryana is scheduled on October 7 after he concludes his tractor rally across the neighbouring State of Punjab.

Dushyant, while talking to the mediapersons in Sirsa said that it is well known to the farmers who are safeguarding their interests. The State and Central Governments have taken many historical decisions in the interest of farmers and work is being done very seriously to double the farmer’s income.

No effective step was taken by Congress in the direction of prosperity of farmers and increasing their income but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only taken many revolutionary steps in interest of farmers but has also given record compensation to farmers, he said.

Lashing out at Rahul Gandhi, the Deputy CM said that former president of Congress, Rahul does not even understand the ‘K’ in ‘krishi’ (farming). Rahul who is coming for a tour of Punjab and Haryana does not fully understand the three agriculture laws brought by the Centre. The new laws that have been passed now were actually supported by the erstwhile Congress government and during their government they had even proposed an open market in their report, he said. He further said that his doors are always open for farmers for discussion. I am a farmer myself and ready to address any question by the farmers. By giving a Rs 50 bonus on the upcoming Rabi crop of wheat, the Central Government has proven that the crop will be continued to be procured on MSP from the farmers, he added.

Replying to a question regarding the upcoming Baroda by-election, Dushyant said that the state presidents of BJP and JJP are in coordination and soon a final decision will be taken.
