A day after PCC president Capt Amarinder Singh did not attend the death anniversary function of late Beant Singh in Chandigarh, the Congress leader claimed that this was due to viral fever.
“Capt Amarinder could not attend the function since he is down with viral fever and has been advised bed rest till Sunday. He could attend today’s ClP meeting for a brief period only,” said a statement on behalf of the PCC President.
The statement said that Capt Amarinder has attended and addressed over 100 programmes, functions and meetings during last few months and there was no reason he would not have attended yesterday’s function had he not been down with fever.
