With fog affecting normal life, Chandigarh Traffic police have decided to launch a special drive to control road accidents.

Maneesh Chaudhry, Senior Superintendent of Traffic and Security said that under the special drive, road safety awareness campaigns will be organised in collaboration with NGOs. Special light reflectors on cycle rickshaws and auto rickshaws will be installed to increase their visibility in fog and night. Meanwhile, the traffic staff of Chandigarh Police has already been provided 200 lED light traffic control batons that are useful for directing traffic at night and in foggy conditions. Beside this, more than 200 special reflective jackets will also be provided to them to remain visible during night duties.
