Sources said during the Cabinet meeting, a few projects proposed by the Power Department were rejected by the State Government following the disagreement involving the Ministers present.
The Cabinet decided to rename the food and civil supply department as food civil supply and consumer affairs department on the pattern of Union Government. The Cabinet also discussed the matter of distribution of rice and wheat through the public distribution system outlets. Sources said the Centre supplied rice while stopping supply of wheat for three months beginning from January.
However, since April, the supply of wheat resumed. Now, the Cabinet deliberated over whether the rice and wheat would be distributed over the PDS according to the Centre’s norms or according to the stocks available.
