Implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India Campaign in Sonipat, District Administration has almost completed the task of digitising millions of documents since 1870 kept in the record-room of Mini Secretariat.

For digitising the important documents, the district administration on its own had developed unique software under the e-Revenue Archives Project. Accordingly, people would be able to see their old record with just one click, said an official spokesperson.

He said Chief Minister Manohar lal has appreciated this work and asked to implement this software in all other districts of Haryana.

The spokesperson added all documents related to Revenue Department like Jamabandi, Intkaal, Mishal Halfiyat, Deewani, and record related to revenue court and also of land registration were lying in the record room. This record is generally required to resolve the land or revenue disputes and the decisions are taken after studying these records, said he.

Thus, these records are quite important. After scanning and digitisation, these documents will now be safe from termites also, said the spokesman.

He said for further improvement in the software, a team of new and old Patwaris having knowledge of Urdu is prepared. In addition, special training camps have also been organized to train the employees about this software, he added.
