Senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal on Tuesday alleged that due to the Congress misrule the hill State has been brought on the brink of bankruptcy.

Talking to The Pioneer, he lamented that ever since Virbhadra Singh took over as the chief Minister he indulged in extravagance without realizing the financial limitations.

"His (Virbhadra Singh's) top priority had not been the development of the State, but to rehabilitate the defeated and rejected politicians personally loyal to him on prized posts decorating them with a cabinet ranks at the cost of the state exchequer," said Dhumal.

The BJP leader said due to this mismanagement, the State Government could not so far implement the election promise of giving pension to the unemployed youth. Now he was pleading that it  was not practical to give the promised pension, Dhumal added.

"The Congress leaders are currently reeling under panic and fearing that the angry youths could spell their doom," said the former Chief Minister.
