Sharply reacting to the allegations of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh that the BJP Chief Minister acted like a “Hitler” during his tenure, former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said the irrational and unfounded comments of Virbhadra speaks volumes about his deteriorating mental and physical health.
Dhumal said that in the absence of any solid allegations against the BJP and in the light of its outstanding performance, Virbhadra was beating around the bushes to divert the attention of the people from the burning issues facing the common man like rising prices, unemployment and corruption.
He said, “Singh cannot befool the people merely by calling “me” a “Hitler”. People of Mandi Parliamentary Constituency were out to defeat the Congress candidate with record votes.”
He reminded the people not to forget the darkest era of emergency imposed by the former Prime Minster Indira Gandhi on June, 27 1977. Incidentally polling was being held on June 27 for Mandi Parliamentary Constituency. He cautioned the people not to forget to teach a lesson to Congress and punish the sinners of emergency. “It was Indira Gandhi who was a “Hitler” who scuttled democracy and curtained the liberty of the people of India- not me,” he added.
