Unconvinced with the Punjab police’s probe into the attack on him, Sikh preacher Sant Baba Ranjit Singh Dhandrianwale on Thursday moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Taking up the petition of Sikh preacher, Justice Fateh Deep Singh issued notice of motion to the State of Punjab and the CBI for July 7.
Directly pointing a finger at the government, Dhandrianwale in his petition has claimed himself to be a victim of grave persecution at the hands of ruling government. Putting the government in dock, the petitioner has alleged that the government was aiding the culprits, who perpetrated the grave attack on him.
During the hearing, the Bench was told that a case of murder, attempt to murder and other offences was registered under Sections 302, 307, 427, 148, and 149 of the IPC on May 18. But the real perpetrators were roaming free, while the mastermind of the attack was openly accepting the blame for attack.
