Mishra, along with other senior officials of Delhi Jal Board, was on a special visit to Seechewal village to meet Sant Seechewal to discuss river cleaning.

During the meeting, Sant Seechewal explained his entire model of cleaning the Kali Bein rivulet and setting up a water treatment plant at a very low cost in the area.

“Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who recently visited Seechewal, has instructed me to take tips of cleaning Yamuna from Sant Seechewal. That is why, I along with my entire team is here to understand Seechewal model of cleaning the rivulet, which will be applied in Delhi to clean the Yamuna,” said Mishra.

Kejriwal had, in March, visited the renowned environmentalist and appreciated Seechwal model of sewer water treatment plant. He even invited Baba Seechewal to Delhi to be part of the planning of the cleaning of Yamuna river.

lauding Seechewal’s role in the field of curbing water pollution, Mishra said that if this model would be successful in Delhi, entire world would be attracted to apply it in their respective countries.

“We have planned to clean the Yamuna River within two to three years to provide pure drinking water to entire Delhi,” said Mishra while extending a humble invitation to Sant Seechewal to visit Delhi for meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and entire team of Delhi Jal Board.

Mishra revealed that tomorrow (Tuesday), “I would meet the Union Minister Uma Bharti, who also especially visited Seechewal and advocated taking help of Baba Seechewal for cleaning Yamuna River”.

Welcoming Mishra and his team, Sant Seechewal said that he was ready to go anywhere to clean water and to protect natural resources from pollution.

Replying to a media query regarding his support to any political party, Seechewal said: “I will appeal to all political parties to include the issue of growing pollution in their poll document and whosoever party would roll out a concrete agenda on this issue, I will extend my support that party.”
