Deceased's father demands CBI probe

Published on:

After the FIR against Ravneet Garg, chief judicial magistrate (CJM), Gurgaon and his parents under penal provisions for murder of Geetanjali, father of the deceased Om Prakash on Tuesday demanded a CBI enquiry into the case.

“I am not at all satisfied with the ongoing enquiry. The Haryana police has not arrested a single person even after one week of the incident,” said Om Prakash.

Geetanjali was found dead with three bullet injuries on July 17 evening in the Civil lines area of Gurgaon and Ravneet’s licenced revolver was found near the body.

While talking to media at Panchkula on Tuesday, father of Geetanjali alleged that the police enquiry seems shoddy.

“Neither did they record the statements of my two grand daughters, nor are they allowing us to talk to them. Even the bullets were found after five days of the murder,” he said.

Reacting to the demand, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said he would not have any objection if the case was handed over to the CBI.

Sources said the case was handed over to the CBI late in the evening.
