Depressed over the increased debts, a Panchkula based businessman allegedly stabbed his two children and wife before poisoning himself in his resident at Sector-8. One son of the accused managed to survive and informed local residents.
The entire family was lying under the pool of blood, when the local residents reached at the house of deceased at Panchkula.Sources in the police said that the incident took on Thursday afternoon, when Vinod Mital, a local businessman, allegedly stabbed his wife (Neelam Mittal). After some time when his two sons (Rohit and Pratham) came back from school, he also stabbed them with sharp edged weapons.
After stabbing his wife and children, Vinod also committed suicide by consuming poisonous substances. However Pratham was survived from this Massacre and informed the local residents on Friday morning.
On receiving the information, locals rushed to their rescue and they were taken to civil hospital of Sector-6, Panchkula, where Vinod, Nilam and Rohit were pronounced dead by the doctors on duty. Meanwhile the condition of Pratham is said critical. A police team also reached to the hospital and the bodies were sent for postmortem.
During the course of investigations in the matter, police said that Pratham has disclosed that his father had been under depression from past few months due to heavy load of debts on him. "He always used to talk about his increasing debts and the loss in his business, bu we did not know that he could take such step," said Pratham.The statements of the injured has been recorded and a case was registered in the mater and further investigations are under progress, said Arshdeep Singh, ASP, headquarters of Panchkula police.
