Punjab Government has directed all the deputy commissioners to conduct verification of all the beneficiaries of smart ration card scheme. State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Thursday said that the decision has been taken following directive by the CM who desires every eligible household to avail benefit, and simultaneously ensure exclusion of ineligible ones. Notably, the State Government was receiving constant complaints regarding inclusion of ineligible beneficiaries and wrong exclusion of eligible beneficiaries availing subsidized wheat at the rate of Rs two per kg under the Scheme.
